Within the West Wing we have a structured programme for the individual needs of those with profound and multiple disabilities and complex learning difficulties. Our daily routine is structured around personal care and individual health needs.
Our day consists of positioning, massage, sensory stimulation, drama, music, Jacuzzi, crafts, dance, rebound therapy, outings in the local community, physiotherapy, swimming and snoezelen sessions and Cool Zone.
We also incorporate personal care, social time, meals & snacks, and relaxation into what is a busy day for service users. We have a variety of specialist equipment which meet the needs of the individual.
As the needs of the service users are very complex, we rely on a high ratio of staffing to enable us to provide a structured day. Also due to the level of immobility, high level of support? We require the use of specialist moving equipment to help the service users move around safely. To enable the service users to explore activities within our community, we go on outings as often as possible with the aid of the centre transport.
Our aim is to support people to feel valued as they have an important contribution to make to our community.
